The fact that we came up with India’s first Pure, Edible Damask Rose Water from Uttarakhand makes us really happy.
Aromatic, beautiful and delicious – Rose is considered to be the flower of the goddesses and it’s no surprise that roses have always been associated with beauty. Delicate petals of the damask roses have so much to offer and not just to our skin and self-care regimes but also to our gut.
What makes our damask rose water edible?
We believe in returning to simplicity, where we can learn from nature’s wisdom and ancient traditions. Our Damask Rose Water is all of the above. It’s beautifully simple and entirely natural.
Produced from the rare damask roses, all the way from Uttarakhand, this is India’s first pure, edible rose water of its kind. We are strong believers of the fact that if something like this is in its purest form without any additives, there’s nothing that should stop it from being edible. Just like how we include dried rose petals in our recipes, something like rose water made with those petals should be promising enough to consider it as consumable without any hesitation.
Why is our damask rose water so special and how is it made?
Damask roses hold a special place in the hearts of the farmers at our small Uttarakhand farm. In the fresh air, far away even from motorable roads, leave aside pollution, our farmers collect Damask roses with their hands early in the morning before full sun light falls on them to retain the maximum goodness of these flowers.
The farmers here have incomparable expertise and they have passed down the know-how through generations. They use a single pass steam herbal distillation process to make sure that our rose water is of the best grade.
So, our bottles of rose water just contains the steam collected from distillation of freshly collected Damask rose petals, and nothing else.
Their mild and soothing aroma differentiates Damask roses from the usual rose. Unlike the usual rose, Damask rose does not have a heavy fragrance or a bitterness in taste. The softness in their flavor profile sets them apart from any rose water available out there.
Beyond the sweet treats and baked foods, rose water is also an excellent ingredient for savory dishes. It perfectly complements aromatics like ginger, saffron, cumin, coriander, cardamom, and so many more. You can also add it to your favorite vegetarian dishes, such as quinoa salad or vegetable biryani.
Add rose water to your smoothies!
Here’s a recipe of Mango lassi to relish:
